Invoice Payment Terms—Detailed Blog Samples

This is a collection of two guides that I wrote for Biller Genie and that are published on their blog. These writing portfolio samples are based on a theme of writing invoice payment terms and net 30 billing. I wrote these guides for businesses that want to:

  • Create clear, easy-to-understand terms for paying invoices.

  • Get paid more quickly by using invoicing best practices.

  • Offer reasonable deadlines for invoice payment.

You will find links to each published sample below.

Intent of this writing on invoice payment terms

The overall intent of this work is to provide organic, inbound content marketing through Biller Genie publishing my samples, increasing SEO and the likelihood of their website appearing in search.

The other aims of this writing are to:

  • Show how writing clear invoice terms can help a business get paid more quickly.

  • Remove ambiguity and confusion around invoice payments.

  • Decrease the hassle and friction of paying invoices.

  • Break down and provide helpful explanations of invoice payment terms and settlement times.

How to Write Invoice Payment Terms

That’s where invoice payment terms come in. They’re the terms and conditions on an invoice that tell your clients everything they need to know about paying you. Properly written invoice terms let you set expectations with clients, tell them about their options, and explain why they should pay within a certain time. This keeps everyone happy—your customer knows what they need to do, and your bank account gets credited without you having to send out reminders and penalties.

How Does Net 30 Billing Work? All Your Questions Answered!

Net 30 billing is an invoicing term that means the recipient of an invoice is expected to pay it in full within 30 days of the date it was received. It’s effectively a “trade credit” that your business offers to your client. For example, if you were to send out an invoice on January 2, 2020, you would expect payment on or before February 1, 2020. The 30 days between initial invoicing and when payment is received can be looked at like a credit extension you’re providing to your customer.
